Look out Fall, here I come!

I just LOVE this weather!! It has been comfortable and sunny during the day and cool and crisp at night. Perfect sweater/jeans weather and great for snuggling at night. If only it could stay fall all the time! Of course, I am sure I would get sick of it eventually, but it definitely is my favorite season.

This past weekend Chloe broke through her first molar. She has her 8 front teeth, but nothing new for several months. She has been a real crabby camper the last few days and so I checked her mouth and there was the sharp edges of the tooth! Luckily, teething doesn't seem to impact this kid's ability to sleep or eat.

On Tuesday, Craig and I took the day off and headed to the Big E with Chloe. The Eastern States Exposition is an awesome event with lots of food and crafts and traditional New England goodies. Plus there are lots of animals like teams of Clydesdale horses, goats, llamas, alpaca, chicks and ducks. Chloe enjoyed seeing all the animals and she loves the fair food. Of course, around 2 pm which is almost an hour after normal nap time, she started getting very cranky, so we headed home and she snoozed for about 40 minutes in the car. Not nearly her normal 2 hr nap, but she did fine until bedtime.

Work has been pretty busy lately. On Tuesday, while we were at the fair, one of my coworkers was let go. I was not surprised to hear about it as she was one of those folks that just seemed to take twice as long to do everything, but the work that she was doing is now on our shoulders until we can get a replacement up and running. I don't mind being busy though and luckily my February project is just getting started so I still have the time to work on additional tasks.

Next week, we should finally be getting our wood stove in the family room ready for action, so I can get that room furnished as a play room. Craig has been working on getting a chimney liner for the stove, so once it is installed, we can get a warm fire going. We have a fire place in our living room, but wood stoves throw off so much more heat. We ordered 2 cord of firewood as well so we hope to do some house heating this winter with wood to lower our oil expense.
And of course, I must share some pictures!

Chloe was fascinated by the spaceman suit at the UTC booth
This kid loves her some turkey leg!

Budweiser had their Clydesdales and Chloe thinks horses are cool!
Craig wanted to take the truck of beer with him but alas, he wasn't strong enough.
Peaceful slumber on the ride home

I'm loving this weather too, it's been so nice. I talked to my mom and it's still 105 in Kuwait this week. I don't miss that heat!

Love the turkey leg picture! Gretchen has such chunky thighs I call them turkey legs. I'm sure she'll love to hear that as she gets older. I'd better write it in the baby book now so I don't forget! ;o)
