Just a couple of quickies since it is late.
Halloween--it was a quiet affair this year, which was AOK by me. Chloe was a little NY Giants cheerleader and wore her costume all day at day care. No trick or treating for her, since she doesn't even eat the candy, but she did help pass some out to that about half dozen kids that came to our door. One of the benefits of living in a small town with lots of land, not a lot of trick-or-treaters since it is too much walking. I dressed up for work too. I was a hockey player and I even wore roller blades in the office. It was great, I was flying through the office and wasn't late to a single meeting!
I started my next class and got my first assignment turned back. I got a 79, which really pissed me off. The instructor gave no direction on the assignment and when I got it back and he told me what was missing, I was ticked. It totally knew how to do that, but I didn't since that isn't what I thought he wanted. Well, now he is getting the kitchen sink with each assignment. I hope he likes to read...
This morning, I was up at 6 am and at our polling place by 6:15 (they opened at 6). Luckily, again the benefit of a small town, there was no real wait, I was in and out in 5 minutes. When I got to work, some of my coworkers mentioned the lines were about 45 minutes at their polling places. I can't imagine what they were like after work this evening.
As a republican, I am little sad that so many good congressmen (like our Chris Shays) lost their races simple by association. Congressman Shays ran a clean campaign with no negative ads (despite the constant barrage from his opponent). He is about as liberal/moderate as a republican goes (you have to be to be the only Republican from New England) and has represented Connecticut well for 20+ years. I just hope his opponent can match his compassion and commitment.
The presidental election appears to be going towards Obama as well. I wish him luck. He will inherit a country that is in turmoil and if he spends too much time and money on stupid spending, he will squander a fantastic opportunity. While I did not vote for him I would like to see him succeed. Not only because I want to see this country get back on its feet, but I like the idea of a black man winning the highest office in the land (too bad he wasn't a Republican!) But for everyone's sake, let's not think this man will solve the world's problems in 4 years. In fact, I would be surprised is he is able to get but 1 major thing accomplished. I guess only time will tell.
Oh, did I mention that on Saturday I went to the So You Think You Can Dance concert at the MGM casino here in CT? The show was AWESOME and I can wait for next season to begin! It was so much fun to go out with some buds (Craig stayed home with Chloe) and we had dinner and drinks before the show. I really have to do that stuff more often!
I leave you with some pictures.

We are the same as you virtually no Trick or treaters, I live at the bottom of a very quiet cul-de-sac. It was so different where I lived pre-2000, I was on a corner in a busy estate got "everyone & his dog", it certainly is nice to be ignored sometime.
Think the jury is out on Obama, he has a lot of promises to live up to. I've said before he reminds me of our former PM Tony Blair and my opinion is that he was more concerned with his own image rather than the country.
Sorry to here you put a lot of effort in the wrong direction on your assignment, its so frustrating when that happens.
Maybe I'm wrong about Obama but its only time that will tell.
What cute pictures! And with her Elmo too!
Chloe is the cutest little cheerleader EVER!! And how fun is it that you wore skates to work?? At my work we have this huge long underground tunnel between a couple of the buildings and I'd LOVE to strap on some skates or fly down it. Or bowl in it. Or do a bunch of cartwheels in a row...
Sorry to hear about the grade in your class. I hate it when professors don't tell you what they want and then mark you down for not being able to read their minds. Argh.
How great that you went to SYTYCD! I would LOVE to go see that tour someday! Glad you had a good time.
Your little cheerleader looks so cute and thumbs up to you for dressing up!!! I am sure it was fun to be on skates at work!!!
I am happy with the outcome of the election, but regardless of who won our nation is in serious trouble and we can only hope that it gets better!!!
Have a great weekend!!
aw jenny she's gotten so big! i love her little costume! Lila was a butterfly & we did a LOT of trick or treating LOL :)
All I can say is I'm glad the election is over! I was tired of all of the negativity! I hope that Barack does a good job & you are right- he can't do it all in 4 years. We can just hope he makes some of the right decisions for the country.
I have a new blog btw :) Stop by! I'm hoping to get back to it more frequently. TTYL & have a great weekend!!
Just catching up here. I chuckled at the thought of you skating at work - what a great idea though!
