Today I had my first dr. appointment. With my previous doctor, you didn't go in until 8-10 weeks for your first visit and U/S. Here, they have you come in to confirm the PG and go through some preliminary stuff and start scheduling appointments. So, the appointment went fine. They confirmed what my $1 POAS test confirmed. I am 5 weeks along and due 10/17. I have my ultrasound scheduled for 3/11 and another visit for 3/20. The practice has both OBs and midwives, so I am going to meet with a midwife on 3/20. She will do my exam and take my full history as well as give me some information about how she 'works'. Then, if I want, I can continue to use the midwives for my pregnancy or I can use the OB. I think I might prefer the midwives since I want to have a more natural, relaxed and less clinical delivery. We shall see what I think of them.
I am just starting to feel like I am PG. Minor aches and cramps and some soreness. Of course, all of this is good stuff. It means I am normal. Hopefully no surprises come along.
When I got home, I was feeling pretty good. Each day the pregnancy is more and more real. I went into the freezer and I pulled out 6 bags of frozen breastmilk. Yes, I still have some from April/May of last year. For some reason, I couldn't throw it out. Something about keeping it in the fridge was a comforting reminder of our success at breastfeeding. I loved the closeness that we shared when I nursed Chloe. I miss that now that she is older and little miss independence. I guess today, I figured it was OK to let it go. Is that weird?

CONGRATULATIONS! I can't wait to follow the progress of baby-on-the-way! Keeping the breastmilk is not weird. KK will be four this year, and I still have a bottle in the freezer. It's a comforting reminder, and I'm not sure I will ever get rid of it. Well, maybe not EVER...but not yet for sure! : )
oh my godish, I'm so behind! CONGRATS!!!!! Yay for you!!! I never expected to read that ur preggo again this morning, but what a great surprise!!!
I'm so happy that all is well!
I'm so glad the appointment went well and you're a healthy mommy to baby M! I can't wait to hear how the next one goes!
I'm glad your appointment went well! I don't think it's weird that you wanted to keep the breastmilk. Breastfeeding has been such a wonderful thing for me, with both of the boys. I missed it so much when I stopped nursing Cade at 9 months. I'm determined to make it at least a year with Liam. It's going so well and Liam just loves it :) He's addicted, ha. I love the bonding we get with it!
Hi Jenny, I'm coming in late here, but CONGRATULATIONS on your pregnancy!!! I am so excited for you :)
I don't think there's anything wrong with keeping the breastmilk. I had a couple of bags in the freezer right before we left to move to WI, and I hated so much to see it go :(
I'm so happy for you!
Yay!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Oh, that comment from "Bruce" was Christina by the way. Apparently my husband was using Gmail on my computer recently, haha.
